James: We have two-thirds of Americans who are overweight or obese.

Jeff: Healthcare premiums have been increasing about 10% per year for the past few years. The biggest driver of that is obesity.

David: Weight will drive complications and co-morbidities of other conditions. It's not uncommon to find that people who are overweight have a number of different conditions that they're dealing with on a regular basis.

Jeff: Employees who are overweight are 13 times more likely to be absent from work, than healthy weight employees.

David: Almost two and a half times less productive.

Jeff: Healthcare costs are seven times greater, and Worker's Comp claims are two times greater. When you add those together, significant costs relative to a healthy weight employee.

David: Being able to reduce the incidence of obese employees within your company will give you an opportunity to reduce a lot of your overall healthcare spend.

Jeff: An overweight employee on average costs their employer $2,800 more per year, relative to a healthy weight employee.

Debra: There's no cost to the organization, it's only a cost to the participants. What we see are the benefits of Retrofit. We get save on healthcare costs, our claims go down, and people are excited to come to work. That's a good thing.

Brad: That's what could offer, to change both the clients and Retrofit, and hopefully shift the whole obesity crisis.

David: Quite frankly, diets don't work.

Norman: I'll go up. I'll lose weight, go back down. Then after a while, I would creep back up. I was at the stage where I was at one of the peaks in this ebb and flow, and I heard about Retrofit.

Melissa: That's why this program is so important, to teach you how to keep the weight off.

Paula: It helped me to change the way I looked at weight loss, and to realize there's been times in the past where I've lost the weight and I've gained it again.

Amy: It's not a program with this finite end. It's a way of life.

Jeff: We work with companies, and we partner with them to help set up their employees to lose weight slowly and effectively, in a sustainable way. That will have the opportunity to reduce those companies' healthcare premiums.

David: Retrofit overlays very nicely with a company's wellness program, whether it's smoking cessation or targeted specifically at other conditions.

Jeff: Our clients get the opportunity to work with experts, to have their data captured, to have real accountability over a 12 month horizon. So, it's a very doable, livable change.

Dan: Accountability is very important in my life, in the job that I have, and the way I've always approached anything that I do. Retrofit is really great that way, because there's definite accountability. You can't hide from the facts that are in front of you everyday, and it definitely keeps you honest.

Paula: I'm a senior administrative assistant, so I sit a lot at my desk. It's real easy to gain weight and everything, so they've got me moving. I'm up and moving a lot more, and a lot more active, and just feel a whole lot better about myself in general.

Whitney: Retrofit clients are losing on average a pound of weight loss per week. Even the clients who have been in the program for six months or 24 full weeks, are still losing about a pound of weight loss per week. We're really encouraged by the statistics that we're seeing, and just the level of success that we've achieved so far.

Debra: Retrofit brings all of the aspects of healthy living together. It gives you activity, it gives you the right things to eat, and it gives you that support system. There is not a better product out there. It's wonderful.

Kilby: Well, this year as part of our health insurance, we had to do a screening. I'll tell you, when I got my results back I was really pumped. My blood pressure was back to normal, my cholesterol was perfect, and there's still an amount of weight that I lost. It was a pretty good feeling.

Robert: It turns out that 10% is just about in that right niche, where you're going to be able to see and feel the benefits, and it's practical and achievable to sustain that amount of body weight.

Dawn: When you lose 10% of your body weight, it's called clinically significant. What that means is it decreases disease risk of so many diseases. You have a lower risk of heart disease, diabetes, cancer.

Brad: Decreases in blood pressure, decreases in cholesterol.

Dawn: Better sleep, more energy, and just feeling better.

Robert: The most successful thing I do for a weight loss program for someone who's busy and stressed, is to listen. To find out what their problems are, what their challenges and obstacles are, and tackle those straight on.

Debra: When people have crazy schedules, Retrofit can be a huge advantage. Because they will schedule time whenever you're available. Your meetings can happen whenever it's convenient for you.

Juan: The program works precisely because it's part of my everyday life.

Amy: You as the person, as the participant, have to decide that you're going to put the work in, as there is no magic bullet. I am super busy, and it's fitting in.

Matt: We can individualize things and really make them unique to that person that comes in and says, "OK. This is what I'm trying to do."

Norman: It's been very important to me, to the success that I've had so far, that they have just been there whenever I wanted to email them, or Skype, or whatever.

Kilby: The reason why I think Retrofit works for me is because I've been able to integrate it into just my normal life. It's not something I think about. It's not something I have to go do. I don't have to measure. I don't have to count. It just becomes, you use the tools, the tools give you the feedback, and it becomes part of your normal activities.

Paula: My boss is on the same program, and so we have a little bit of competition going on to see who's losing the most weight. We also exchange food ideas and different snack ideas. Everybody in the office has been very supportive. In fact, some other members have decided to join because of the results that my boss and I have achieved.

Dan: Retrofit allows me to keep track of my progress, just like I would in my professional life with the teams that I manage. It shows me feedback, it allows me to see when I'm starting to get offtrack a little bit, and then it allows me to steer myself and correct my course.

Whitney: The Retrofit client dashboard is unique in that it holds so many different data points and pieces of information, from weight and step data and activity data, to conversations that are being had between the wellness expert team and the client. You just have a full holistic picture.

Mia: The data that you're sending in to the internet is being constantly evaluated and you're getting emails and responses on your web page.

Holly: With the wireless devices, you can capture the data, which is great. It's easy. You have the accountability, which is a critical pieces, but then you actually have that data going to experts, experts that know what to do with it. They can tell you, do you need to stay the course, do you change something, what do you do with that data once you have it?

Debra: The advisory board is just a huge advantage. I recognized some of the names when I had heard about them, and thought, wow. You've got the leaders in the industry helping you.

Paula: The Retrofit coaches each specialize in their own fields as far as the nutrition, the behavioral coach, the exercise physiologist, and then the program adviser. They each bring their own specialty to the table, and a wealth of information.

Maureen: Dr. Kushner's profile, his lifestyle patterns inventory enables clients to see where they're failing in their weight loss, what is preventing them from losing the weight, what is preventing them from maintaining their weight.

Robert: When the counselor knows my unique lifestyle patterns that are problematic for me in controlling my body weight, they're able to tackle that immediately. They can work on solutions from day one to help you control your body weight.

Dan: I think the power in Retrofit is bringing the data together with the network of experts, and collaborating to make you a healthier individual.

Matt: Retrofit works because you're given the tools and the strategies that you need to sustain a lifestyle.

Amy: It's like a master's program. It's just teaching me how to live my life. I feel like I have guardrails around me of people watching, and tools that I can use to sort of get me where I need to go from a health and wellness standpoint.

Dan: Retrofit is great because there's a lot of support that comes with the program. No matter what level of commitment you have, or self-confidence, you're going to have the kind of support that you need.

Scott: One of the great strengths about the Retrofit program is how personal it is. Working with my behavior coach, it was about understanding how the Retrofit program would complement what I'm trying to do in my life, and not necessarily forcing me to change everything about my life to fit the retrofit program.

Juan: My lifestyle, my issues, not somebody elses. The proof is in the pudding in terms of the effect of this program.

Mia: To have this support network of experts and people that are interested in your well-being is wonderful. They read your data, they give you encouragement, they cheer lead you.

Norman: The expert team is motivating, and knowing that they're there looking over everything adds to that motivation. I want to succeed. I know they want me to succeed. I have succeeded, and I'll continue to succeed.

Paula: Now my boss and I have this fun thing going about trying to compete against each other to see who's going to lose more. It's the first thing he says to me on Monday morning. "How much did you lose?"

Jeff: Employers of all types are working with Retrofit, and I think part of the reason is the employer benefits by reduced healthcare costs, but the employee benefits because we give them an amazing group rate across the whole company.

Debra: Getting Retrofit into the workplace was so easy. Jeff and his team made it seamless. They came in and did presentations. We gave away a free membership, which was wonderful. That sort of sparked interest, like oh, I have to try this. People listened to it, they could see that it made sense.

Norman: At the office everyday, 3:00, a group of us who are on Retrofit, we meet and we walk up stairs. The same group on the first of each month, we meet on the first floor of the building, main lobby, we walk up to the top of the building. It's just a way to work together as a group, to have fun doing it, to give each other support.

Jeff: For an employer to give the gift of wellness to their people is something that their employees will treasure, but really benefits the employer with an energized, healthy, excited workforce.

Debra: I think success is, first of all I see a lot of happy faces. People are very excited about the program. They're excited about their accomplishment to lose five pounds, 10 pounds, 15 pounds. We have family members. People are reaching out to others and saying, you've got to try to this program. It's been amazing.

David: When you work with Retrofit, we come in, we take care of all the marketing. We take care of all the upfront work to get your employees engaged. We let you worry about other aspects of your job, and we take care of the entire Retrofit program for you.

Debra: Retrofit is so easy to offer. It helps you do the things that you need to do to contain those healthcare costs. It cuts right to claims, and that is something we're all looking for. It really is so easy.

Jeff: There's a number of ways that employees can pay for this program. They can pay all up front, they can pay per month as they go, or their employer can set up a payroll deduction plan to make it really convenient.

Debra: There's no risk to the organization. There's no cost to it, and it's very advantageous. If you can get your employees healthy, what else is there?
