Wi-Fi Scale

Retrofit provides all clients enrolled in the Advisor, Expert 10, and Expert 15 programs with a wireless Fitbit Aria™ scale. In addition to measuring weight and calculating body mass index (BMI), it collects lean muscle mass data when you step on the scale with bare feet.

Note: We still support the Withings scale. Retrofit clients currently using this scale will not be required to exchange it.

Seamless Data Collection and Reporting

The data collected by the Fitbit scale is crucial to long-term weight management.

BMI is a standard indicator of body fat that is calculated using your height and weight. Lean muscle mass data is collected via bioelectric impedance measurement and is reported as a ratio compared to fat mass.

To calculate lean muscle mass, the Fitbit scale uses a safe, very low intensity current and measures the electrical resistance met by this current. As fatty tissue is not a conductor, the resistance is in proportion to the quantity of the body's lean mass.

Note that the Fitbit scale is not appropriate for people with electronic implants such as pacemakers. In these cases Retrofit utilizes a more traditional scale.

The Fitbit scale connects with your local Wi-Fi network to upload data to Retrofit's proprietary online dashboard. The numbers display there in informative charts with trend lines and clickable data sets.

All of that tracking is automatic, so you and your Retrofit weight loss expert team can focus on the most important thing for long-term weight loss success: making healthy behaviors a permanent part of your lifestyle.

Slow & Steady Weight Loss Results

As clients increase exercise during the program, lean muscle mass begins to build. Since lean muscle burns calories more efficiently, it alters the balance of your calorie intake and burn.

As lean muscle mass gain tapers off, this typically indicates that a client is entering the weight maintenance phase.

Your Retrofit weight loss expert team closely monitors these shifts over time and recommends new and/or adjusted strategies to help you maintain a healthy weight.

As clients move through the Retrofit program, we typically see between one half pound to a pound of weight loss per week and a gain in lean muscle mass over the course of a year.
